The AbD Serotec company produces antibodies for researchers in the scientific community. The company’s featured products include C4d, CD206, and F4/80. The C4d antibody was developed to detect the 4d component, which is made of three pathways that serve to assist the immune system in combating infection by clearing pathogens. The CD206 antibody is associated with the mannose receptor group of receptors. This molecule is available in a variety of cell types such as retinal pigment epithelium. The F4/80 antibody, which is associated with the EGF-TM7 group, is a marker for mouse macrophage. The AbD Serotec suite of F4/80 products are available in a variety of formats (includes APC, FITC, RPE) and applications. The most common applications are flow cytometry and immunofluorescence.

The company also produces cryptosporidium antibodies. This includes nine rituximab antibodies that are suitable for nonclinical studies and studies involving monitoring drugs. This class of antibodies include the products HCA186, HCA201, MCA2260, MCA2260P, MCA2260F, HCA062, HCA062P, HCA061, and HCA061P. Of these antibody products, AbD Serotec developed MCA2260 using methods that follow traditional standards. Each anti-rituximab antibody product is recommended for a specific assay development project. For example, the MCA2260 product is recommended for direct ELSA testing. The other products were developed using a method called HuCAL®. This method, which is suitable for PD and PK assays, is based on phage display technology.

DNA fragmentation antibodies are also cryptosporidium antibodies that AbD Seortec produces. The antibodies are available for human and mouse target species and specificity that includes CAD, CDK, and PAK2. These antibodies are appropriate for research projects for ELISA, gel super shift assays, and immunofluorescence. AbD Serotec develops several products for apoptosis, which include apoptosis detection kits, mitochondria molecules, cell membrane molecules, autophagy, and cytoplasmic molecules.

In addition to individual antibodies, AbD Serotec provides reagents and kits of two types: rodents and bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU). The rodent kits allow researchers to test antibody isotypes of all classes and sub-classes that belong to rat and mouse immunoglobulin without using a cytometer. Based on dip-stick technology, these kits contain everything a researcher needs for isotype determination. The rodent antibody isotype kits are based on specificity and the target species. The kits for mouse ad rat targets includes 10 tests with accompanying tubes that are for development. The antibodies in these kit have a shelf life of one year from the date they are shipped. The antibodies in these kits should not be frozen.

The BrdU antibodies and kits serve to identify the amount of DNA synthesis in neoplastic cells and those that are considered normal. In addition to DNA synthesis, these antibodies are beneficial in research studies of cell kinetics and proliferation. AbD Serotec provides two BrdU kits; one for immunohistochemistry (IHC) and one for flow cytometry. The IHC kit allows researchers to detect DNA fragmentation using IHC detection that is performed on frozen tissue. This kit is also appropriate for studies that involve cells that exist on slides. The flow cytometry kit is designed to detect cells that have been determined by microscopy to be in a late phase of apoptosis.
