Flow Cytometry Teaching

Flow cytometry is a complex technology that requires understanding of sample processing, data acquisition and data analysis.  An individual experiment can take a dozen hours to prepare, hours to collect and days to analysis.  This is why flow cytometry training is critical in understanding and optimizing the use of this technology in the research or clinical setting.

This technology has evolved rapidly over the last 20 years, with changes at every level.  Practices that worked for 2-4 color flow cytometry need to be reevaluated when moving to 6-10 color flow cytometry.  Also, with the development of new fluorescent dyes, new laser excitation sources and ways to process the data, a firm understanding of the principles of flow are critical.

Expert Cytometry is a full service concierge cytometry company designed to help the researcher understand these principles, so they can optimize their work in flow cytometry, and implement the best practices using this technology in their laboratory.

We offer face to face flow cytometry training courses around the world, as well as on-line training courses for those who cannot make a face-to-face training course.  Additionally, we provide one-on-one consultation in experimental design, execution and analysis.  Please email us at [email protected] to learn more, or visit our website at http://www.expertcytometry.com/

I enjoy answering paradigm-shifting questions and trouble-shooting puzzling glitches. I also like finding new ways to enhance old procedures. I’m passionate about my professional relationships and strive to fill them with positive energy.

My other passions include grilling, wine tasting, and real food. To be honest, my biggest passion is flow cytometry, which is something that Carol and I share. My personal mission is to make flow cytometry education accessible, relevant, and fun. I’ve had a long history in the field starting all the way back in graduate school.
